What’s Happening At The Longton Public Library

It’s been another busy month at the Longton Public Library.  This month we have elected three new board members, Kay Miller, Kathy Ferguson and J.R. Ferguson.  We are excited to have them join us and hope to continue making our services to the community even better.

We are hosting a TEEN MOVIE NIGHT on October 13th in the school board room.  This movie is free and open to all kids 13 – 19 years old.  The movie has yet to be decided yet, but we will have flyers up soon.  Make plans to be there – it’ll be a great night.  Teen Read Week is the week of October 18th – 24th, come see what books we’ve got – we have a bunch of new ones, including some new Stephen King.  We also have “The Hunger Games” – I’ve heard this is a great one!  And come check out our growing DVD collection!

We would like to extend a special thanks to our volunteers, Chris Beougher, Jalie Wallace and Robert Walker have all been a big help!

Don’t forget we’re open the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, with STORY HOUR on the third Saturday from 10-11 AM.  Come meet Mr. Bear this month and here about how he finds “Peace At Last”.  We’re also open on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday until 7 PM for those that can’t come in during regular hours.

See you at the library!
