November at the Library

on October 26, 2009

Thanks so much for all the kids who came out for our Teen Movie Night!  We had a total of 17 kids that showed up for the movie, snacks and the Blood and Chocolate cupcakes!  It was such a success that we are considering the possibility of making it a regular event.  All teens who are interested please let me know at the library.  We are also planning on doing another movie for the younger set sometime in November.  This movie would be more for the Kindergarten age through age 12.

We have more than 200 new-to-us books we’ve received in the last month and just received over 30 new movies, so come check out your local library.  We’re working hard to serve our community!  Find us on Facebook and become our friends under LONGTON READERS – we’ll keep you posted on upcoming events and new books and movies we have.  Click Here:  http://www.facebook.com/home.php

Don’t forget that November 15th through 21st is Kansas Reads to Preschoolers week, the library will be reading to the preschool classes that week.

With the colder weather moving in, there is no better time to curl up with a good book on those cold winter nights!  Come see what we have, if we don’t have what you’re looking for, chances are we can get it from the interlibrary loan program – we usually have books or movies within a week of requesting them.  We also have all these new books!  Don’t forget we are a Wi-Fi Hotspot – feel free to come inside with your computer as these colder months are here – we have a table and chairs for you to work at.

Keep up with me on Facebook under Longton Readers – we have a lot of great programs and events coming up!
